Popcorn hour better performance with Hard drive?

Do you get better performance from the popcorn hour if there is a hard drive?


For example, somethings there are issues when fast forwarding from a streaming network device correct?


Would having the data right on an internal hard drive for the popcorn hour allow smoother fast forwards(like from a DVR such as Replaytv or Tivo) ?
