I was just looking at the specs of the Popcorn A-110 and it lists "specific" web services like youtube, nbc nightly news etc.....and even specific photo services like flicker and so on.


Maybe these are just examples they're using but wouldn't this thing access ANY video on the net?


Or do they have agreements with just certain services?


I'm going to build an HTPC anyway, but wanted to take one last look at these devices.

YouTube works on the Popcorn Hour. They made a simplified interface for it, probably using the YouTube API.
However, not all web services are currently supported. Hulu, for example, isn't. I'm not sure if they actually have agreements with the site operators or not, but I kinda think not. Perhaps they're dependent on publicly available API or url parsing for web services.

Certainly a very good reason to build an HTPC.


Weird.


Why it doesn't have complete net access is beyond me.


I mean c'mon, remember web tv?
