I have read plenty of speculative comments that use specs but I'm sure many people would very much appreciate any comments or advice regarding this topic. Is it a significant improvement over AE100 (our past "el cheapo" home cinema king? AE100, of course suffers from horrible black levels and significant screendoor (defocusing sucks)!

You quite possibly could lose resolution, so I don't think anyone would say that it would be a signifigant upgrade. 16:9 material showing on an SVGA panel is only 800x450, which is less than the AE100 is.

Ah, if built in Faroudja deinterlacing, less screendoor and a contrast ratio that for video is twice as big or more than the AE100's are not big improvements, then I'm not sure what is.

chris,

F deinterlacing: Not really an issue if you watch film -sourced stuff mainly. I rarely watch video and when I do, it is of such bad quality that a Teranex couldn't help :)

Less screendoor: While DLP does have a higher fill factor, the less resolution (bigger pixels) and defocusing somewhat reduce this effect.
