What is the ideal positioning for a speaker with dual side firing woofers (on each side) and back ports?

How far from back wall?
How far from each other? (for the inside mounted woofer)
How far from side walls? (for the outside mounted woofer)

Every room is different. There are no hard and fast rules. Experiment, let your ears decide.

It is a pair of JBL Loft 50s that i bought a while ago and run in my workshop. They sound great, but i have not heard of a rule that applies for dual side firing woofers in each speaker w.r.t placement. The manual did not say anything about placement if i recall (when i had it).

who still uses those?

get REW and test placement options.

"For the best performance, we recommend that you place the speakers at least 5" (130mm) away from the wall behind it to allow proper operation of the rear-panel mounted bass reflex port, and at least 20 inches (51cm) away from the side walls." (Page 3)
