Does anyone know if it's better to plug power amps directly into the wall socket or just plug them into your power surge protector. I was told that if you plug power amps into a surge protector it will choke the power going into the amp and it won't run as well. Is their any truth to this and is it best to plug the amps into the wall socket. Any help on this would be appricated. Thanks.

It totally depends on the power conditioner you are using. Most will have a few plugs that are not current limited and are designed for use with high current components. Personally I would want my amp to have at least some surge protect and would rather go out and buy a capable conditioner than plug directly into the wall.
