I have set up Vista to use MCE Vista, which so far is a very positive experience. One small problem is that I don't seem to be able to activate CPU power management - I have Core 2 Duo E6600, and I know there should be a section in the power management bit of Vista for 'Processor Power Management' but it's not showing there, so therefore my Media Center is always running at full speed, getting hot and louder...


Does anyone have any ideas?

Maybe Vista needs all that CPU power.

He he... The problem seems to be that on my PC there is no option to set CPU power management features, although on screen shots I have seen the option should be there.

For what it is worth, the AMD power throttling software is called cool and quiet. I am running RC2 and watching a power monitor, Vista seems to have it built in. No sign of the software anywhere but the power drops to where it would under idle in XP if it had the software.
