Hi all.

Yesterday I changed my Powermagic radeon 7500 with a powercolor

Evil Commando Radeon 9000. One thing is to put something into your

HTPC when the package looks like somthing from a 10 year old's

birthday, but really: this card looks so cheap next to the, slightly larger

7500(and red). The card looks really, really cheap. What does it take

to make a good card, is it all about the chip-set or is there something

about the build of the card?

Thanks for reading.

tk,

But you understand how I feel, right? I was also thinking that this a

non-ATI card and all. It also seems that there are thingys on the

Powermagic 7500, such as transistors. I'm not using the composite

out, but did you guys see the way it was connected? It lookes like

a lead connector...That can't be good. What if the VGA is made that

way too?

Please confirm that everything will be alright in my HTPC...

Sure I know how you must feel. I have seen only Pro model of that same card and it looked very promising. Not as good as original ATI but very close. Have you seen Pro model does yours look much different than pro model? Anyway PQ is only thing that matters and I'm quite sure it is still stunning even card seems cheap.

I hope so...I will test when I get home from work & training. How much

are 9500's going for?

No, I haven't seen the pro card. The connectors just seem cheap on

my 9000:(

I had this card on my list. Now your making me wonder. I did see a review comparing this card to other brands and they didn't seem concerned. In fact they praised it for its low cost for value. Hmm. Maybe the sapphiere is starting to look better, it seems to be talked up as the ATI equivalent. If you decide to dump it cheap send me a private message.
