I've got my 4080 drive into my pc because I've had spurious reboot issues and my warranty has run out.
Is running the "advanced test" surface scanning enough to be confident of finding the errors? or do people really recommend doing the low-level format.
My professional experience says if you can scan all the sectors successfully the drive is ready to go. Also, I'd imagine the drive is auto-remapping, so if it does find something on the scan it should reallocate and I'll never see it again.
Suggestions?
