hello forum members,
I have a windows 7 64 bit system with a 240 niveda gt card. with a projector with dvi connection and a 19 inch tv with hdmi connection both run in a mirrored mode. I also have to mimo 7 inch monitors running in mirror mode(usb powered). I use a xlobby front end software and keep that on the mimo monitors. I launch my movies from there and they play on projector and 19in tv. with powerdvd 7.3 software.
playing dvd's is fine. hi def content turns aero off and xlobby begins to be unresponsive and slows down. I figured xlobby needs aero running(xlobby turns on lights,curtain motion and volume, nice to have without any on screen interfenece on powerdvd while movie is playing). I found this little software that stays in taskbar next to clock. It is called aero switcher. When hi def content is played I click this button twice and aero is reenabled and xlobby is normal and hi def movie is running fine. With aero on, there seems to be a 5 to 10 percent increase in cpu(doesn't slow anything down). there is a blink on and off for powerdvd.Here is the link to download aero switcher. Forum members what have you found to make launching movies more simple than this. If powerdvd just would not turn aero off
