Using a powered sub, what should I set the volume control to when calibrating using the calibration tools in modern receivers? I have been just leaving it at 50%. As long as this leaves the end db adjustment w/i the limits of the receiver is that the best thing to do, or should I try to find the volume setting that results in as close to 0db adjustment as possible?


Or (as usual) am I over-thinking this?

It doesn't hurt to get close to, but slightly under "0". I don't like to go above "0", and I don't like to be at the low end of the range of the trim setting either. I shoot for -5 to -2.
