I have a Zenith C27V36 HDTV and I've been trying to get the DVI output to work perfectly with this tv, with little results.. My first question is, why does the settings in powerstrip I've made here for 960x540 work, but when I try to use the same number of total lines of resolution to display 1280x720, it shows nothing? The settings that work are:

Generic timing details for 960x540:

HFP=216 HSW=48 HBP=368 kHz=45 VFP=84 VSW=30 VBP=96 Hz=60

Linux modeline parameters:

"960x540" 71.375 960 1176 1224 1592 540 624 654 750 -hsync –vsync

(I don't have the powerstrip specific settings b/c those are the ones I was trying to modify)

The settings that use the same total resolution, but different active resolutions are:

PowerStrip timing parameters:

1280x720=1280, 116,40,116,720,10,10,10,71375,2310

but they don't work..

Second, I would like to know if there is a place where I can find out about any service menus for this set, and how to enter such a menu. Thanks for any info..

Sorry I haven't had any more luck with this.. No one seems to be interested in using only their DVI output to connect.. Everyone is able to use the component cables with the newest cat's though. I just wanted to at least see the difference.. Anyhow, I have an All in Wonder Radeon 9800 pro. I have had limited success with the overscan, and no success whatsoever with the service menu. From what I've heard, you have to have a 'service remote' to access these features on an LG tv. Sorry

i'm getting my radeon card (and the rest of my new PC) tomorrow and my DVI to Component adapter on friday. I'll probably play around with a direct DVI connection to my C27V36 tomorrow, but i fully expect to use the component adapter once i get it. I'll save the DVI input for my cable box (if comcast ever stops screwing up and gives me a DCT6200)

There's some working settings in the thread i started a while ago on the subject, which i'll probably dig up tomorrow or friday when i get them working. It'll be good to finally put this TV to good use :)
