Pre amp. suggestions

Im looking to buy a Pre amp for my Onkyo 747.

In some movies I have the dial turn to the max position.

My rear speakers seem weak so I need to pump up the volume, and lower the fronts.

I like to keep it under 1000.

Any advises

I'm confused....do you mean you want to use the Onkyo as a preamp and buy a power amp for under $1000?

Sorry should have been more specific I want a five channel power amplifier for my Onkyo receaver.

No problemo....Have you listened to any of the B&K stuff? I bet you could get a B&K AV5000II for about $900. Its rated @ 125w x 5 and is a great sounding amp. I might also consider ATI1505, as you may have guessed it is rated @ 150w x 5. I have not listened to an ATI amp but I have heard many good things about them. I have an Outlaw Audio 5-channel amp for sale. Check the classified section. The amp has a lot of power and sounds fantastic.

What about the Sherbourn amp that is sold right here on AVS.

It's also supposed to have multimono construction with seperate power supplies.

When I was looking for a new amp at a budget this one was suggested several times.
