May 5, 2006 - In its continuing "Road to E3" countdown, SEGA of America and SEGA Europe revealed today that it's publishing "The Club," a brand new action-shooter from Bizarre Creations -- the same team that brought Xbox 360 audiences Project Gotham Racing 3 and Geometry Wars.
"The Club simply delivers that visceral thrill of high-stakes gambling and tosses in a heavy dose of frenzied gunplay," said Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America. "Bizarre Creations has a incredible track record and now they bring the innovation, both technical and creative, shown in the racing genre and have applied it to the shooter category."
"Here at Bizarre Creations we feel The Club brings the pillars of classic SEGA gameplay bang up to date for the next generation of hardware, gaming and gamers," commented Martyn Chudley, Managing Director, Bizarre Creations Ltd. "We are truly excited by the prospects of this game and of our partnership with SEGA."
An illegal underground organization, The Club is supposed to be an urban legend... a contest where criminals get paid to participate in gunfights in front of audiences. When held, meetings at The Club are deadly propositions -- Gambling is everywhere, bodies are just as prolific, and survival is the only thing that matters.
Scheduled to be shown behind closed doors at E3 next week, The Club has been described thus far as a shooter with "fast-paced gameplay and a variety of high-powered weaponry." Sadly that description doesn't tell us anything about the mechanics, but at least we won't have to wait long to learn about them.
Expect more info as we report to you from the show floor, and look for The Club to hit shelves in American and Europe sometime in 2007."
