Pre/Pro Warm and Amp is Cool

I've recently added a Rotel RB 1070 amp to my system. It is connected to a Denon 2805. Everything works and sound fine.

I am curious about one thing. When using the Denon for just stereo listening of CDs, I noticed that it gets as hot as when it is being used for HT. Since there are no front speakers connected to it (those being naturally connected to the Rotel), I was wondering why that should be since the amps have no load on them at that time.

The Rotel, by the way, stays cool to the touch despite high volume. This is not really a problem, just a question for my own education.

I got the same "problem", my Rotel 1095 stays fairly cool and my Arcam AVP700 pre-amp gets hot. I am looking for answers too, assuming that I don't have a problem.
Unless your equipment heats up to the point where itbecomes unstable I would not worry about it.

Agreed. Everything is working fine. It is just a curiosity why the Denon might get so hot when there is no speaker load in stereo mode.
