Guys, please advice. I’m newbie to HTPC. Recently built one (MCW7) and love it. Looking to means to build one more for my bedroom. Meanwhile I have pretty powerful workstation in my closet. (Due to its huge size it’s not WAF anymore. Lol).


Specs:

Two Xeon 3.2GHz/800MHz FSB CPUs with HT each

2.5GB DDR-266 ECC RAM

ATI X1600 video

Audiology 2 PCI sound card

Space for 6 hard drives.

460W PSU


I’m wondering what would you do with this monster? It’s too powerful for simple media storage (and too noisy). Maybe I should just recycle it or donate?

Set it up as a server in the basement and stream from it.
