The studios have got their acts together by now.

I predict there will be some green faces when BD50 movies are released by exclusive studios with advanced codecs.

BD50 = acres of space

Exclusive studios = Encoded to maximal-needed BD specs

Advanced codecs = Heaven at high BD bitrates

I am not claiming all of the BD50 with advanced codec will be un-frikkin-believable but I reckon 10-20% of them will set a new standard in overall PQ and AQ for High Def in 2007.

The FINEST PQ ever seen on a consumer display.. thats what its going to be. Cant wait.

Yeah, being a Sony picture I think they are gonna try to nail this one home. After that the next one would be Spiderman III Holidays 2007.

I guess the real question here is:

Do the studios actually have plans to utilize all of a BD50?

As it now stands, the current disks have a great deal of space not being used.

It seems to me that TV series, etc., can really benefit from BD50.

I also would like to see studios put various versions of a movie on one disk with seamless branching and allowing the viewer to select the desired version.

I'm afraid you guys may be right.

Attn. Hollywood: if you want us to change from DVD to BD, then you must make sure that the highest possible bit-rates are used for BD.

Well, I love my high def. So, I will buy regardless.

But still, listen up, studios:

I have an add-on and (will have) plenty of games to play on my PS3.

Am I making myself clear?

Not the bitrates.....but the best CODECS with the bitrate set the highest it NEEDS to be. There is a point where you will get nothing but a bigger file.

I agree.....hopefully Casino Royale will be great!! Also, bring me great transfers of Spiderman 1 and 2, the first 2 x-men and pirates of the caribbean (both) and I'll be a happy camper!!
