I hung the W1070 last night and begun the process of patching holes and sanding. I shot the image on the sage green wall that was already in there, and I am a little concerned. The picture looks pretty bad. I got the focus as best I could, but still didn't look very "HD". I figure it is because I haven't painted the way, and only sanded a few spots where I have put drywall putty. But even the spots where I have sanded still look fuzzy. Do I need to just sand the crap out of it and then paint? What grit sandpaper should I be using for the different steps? If at all possible, I'd like to get the prep done tonight, so I can paint tomorrow, and be watching RomComs on Valentines.

My 1070 looked amazing on my patched unpainted bumpy blue wall.

is your green really shiny or textured or something?

I just painted my first coat of white, after accidentally painted it yellow. The can from the basement said white, it went on yellow, and I thought it would dry white. The next day it was still yellow. LOL.

Here's the white going on, and you can see the blue colour on the window wall. The projector looked very HD and stunning even on the blue. I just did this last night so haven't had a chance to compare.

Good luck! I hope it's just your wall but something tells me it might be your focus / throw length if you can't get it to look good.

The issue really isn't the color. I think its more of a texture issue. I was just watching ESPN through my cable box, so I guess tonight I will play Forza on the Xbox One and see how that looks before jumping to conclusions. If Forza doesn't look good, I will at least know it isn't the source.

It might be worth noting that the house was built in 1996, so that's 18 years of paint on the walls. I know of at least 3 coats (not including the one I have yet to do) in the last 12 months. So there is definitely some texture to the wall.
