Prestige import delayed?

The Prestige was supposed to have been released already in Spain and Germany, with a British release following in early June.

DVD Go lists the Spanish release as being delayed until July, Amazon.de lists the German version as having been released 2 days ago, yet still only available as a pre-order from what I can understand.

Amazon UK lists the HD DVD as releasing on June 4th but still has no product photo.

I'm betting we won't see either version until July. Anyone hear anything about this? This is one of my most anticipated releases....

My impatience is rising

I still have yet to see this, as I am waiting for the HD-DVD release

It'll probably be on a movie channel before that

Yep, my pre-order is also affected.

I reckon that the UK version will be delayed as well.

On a German forum I read today, that someone bought a copy at a German brick-and-mortar shop.

I believe it is true, because when Batman Begins was delayed as well by Warner, there were several copies even available at amazon though. They shipped Batman Begins for some customers, but at the same time they stated that it was delayed.

I too have the UK version in mind for purchase come early June. Does anyone else know any further developments?

The German HD has been postponed to June 22

The crazy thing is that the disc is already available in some german electronic markets which don´t care about "official" release dates.

This was a great movie. I would really like to confuse Disney and meet one of the upper level execs with the HD DVD copy of The Prestige in my hand so I can say "Thanks for your support of the HD DVD format I really enjoy The Prestige in High Definition!! I hope you release Pirates of the Caribbean on HD DVD soon!!!!" Then before he can reply by saying Disney is Blu-Ray exclusive I'll say "ohh wow look at the time!!! I better go my brother is waiting for me because he wants to see that Sony movie Underworld Evolution on HD DVD!!!!"

That would probably just irritate the Exec, but it would be cool

It probably wouldn't. He/she is most likely well aware that The Prestige was a Warner/Touchstone co-production and in some countries the distribution rights belong to Warner, leading to a HD DVD release. But yeah, it's a very good movie, I've seen it twice already (on BD).

Yep, I can confirm the Scandinavian release was released 2 days ago. It's in stock with my distributor.

what sound does this have DD+ or true HD ?

Even if it has DD+ I've noticed that most foreign DD+ tracks are 2 mbps
