Check out the ShowStopper screen shot in today's BestBuy Ad.


I'm a new user, but that screen is not 2.1 - so it's either an old version or a shot of 3.0.


Please don't start criticizing Replay for the things on this screen that you don't like. Lets just wait till we get our hands on it (hopefully not too long.)


Did anyone notic that the MyReplayTV page now says coming in November?

It would appear to be a screen shot of the Channel Guide in 3.0.


I pulled out a magnifying glass, and I think I see the following. Above the time row there is a control bar. On the left looks to be a field for text entry and a Find button next to it. Then there seem to be 3 drop down menus. I can't read the first but the second looks to be time and the third looks to be date. Then there seem to be 3 buttons. I think the first says Go but the print is not good so I am not sure. The next 2 seem to be a single right arrow and then a double right arrow. The left end of this control bar is covered by an overlayed circle saying "Digitally records up to 30 hours" so you can't see it.


Down in the middle of the Channel Guide there seems to be a pop-up menu. As best I can tell, it has four options: Description, Record this show, Record all episodes, and Exit.


There also seem to be tabs at the top and the current one appears to be Channel Guide. Others that I can make out are Find Shows, Manual Record, and Replay Guide.

I was thinking about those dropdown combo boxes, tabs, etc. Kinda seems like a mouse/windows environment. So that means:

I think it's pretty obvious that it's not the 3.0 OS that's going to be on the ReplayTV unit itself (because of the pull-down menus and other Windows-like widgets)


BUT it might be what my.replaytv.com will look like.

It definatly looks like a web site. Also, there is absolutely no way a channel grid that small will be acceptable by most viewers!

I saw that Panasonic logo down below on the TV itself. Does anyone know if Panasonic makes PC monitors?


I know they make TVs, so if it's a TV, wouldn't that mean there's a good chance it's a RTV screen instead of a web site?

I'm with those who say the picture in that ad is of the future my.replaytv.com. It just looks too much like a website.


However, it could be that the 3.0 channel guide was designed to look the same as the guide on MyReplayTV. Either way, how could RTV let Best Buy get a hold of the new interface before they're ready for the public to see it??

Sure they do. Lots. And when was the last time you saw a white tv, and on a pedestal base no less? And that small? It's definitely a web site on a computer monitor.

This weeks Best Buy circular shows a bigger un-obscured view of the

ReplayTV screen.


Right there in the upper left corner of the screen you can clearly see

"my (R) replaytv". So it is MyReplaytv.com, or at least a mock-up of it.


It doesn't look like it is running in a browser, but they could just have

it in the browser's full-screen mode.

From the scan I would bet it is a "full screen" shot of Myreplaytv.com. Maybe in a early stage format. There is no doubt it is a replay product tho due to the unique "red dot" you can see in the listing indicating it will be recorded.


On another not I want to say I just stumbled upon this forum today and I literaly got up out of my chair and had to take a short walk around the office because I was so excited. I love my replay tv and I love reading about it and suggesting new additions. Frankly I had driven those poor tech support people nuts with calls (tho I must admit a few of them have been very difficult to deal with especially trying to not treat you like an idiot. If I call and KNOW what my problem is please don't insult me with an answer I know is way off base and being read from some book).


I have had so much interaction with replay that I now do all my business with any issues directly through their corporate consumer advocate who by the way has been SUPERB! (thanks Sam!)


On that note I would love to become a BETA TESTER so if anyone has any input let me know.


I will keep on reading.

Hey Stuck,


Replay had an open call for beta testing 3.0 quite a while ago. 3.0 is just about wrapped up, so I think it will be a while before the next major testing program is starting. But keep an eye out here.
