I got 5.1 speaker cables going from great room to closet. but I need 7.1.

I dont want to have the receiver local.

do i need to cut the wall sup to wire for 7.1?

I do have cat6

can i do speaker cables to cat6 and then cat6 to speaker?

I looked up Cat6. It's typically 4 twisted pairs of 23 AWG wire. 23 gauge is too fine, by itself.

If you connected 4 wires (two twisted pairs) together, that'd be equivalent to 17 AWG. You'd need 4 for (+), 4 for (-). I assume that you have a single Cat6 cable available.
