Retail is $1999, you should be able to talk a dealer down to $1699. Though prepare for resistance, most dealers will fight tooth and nail for every penny.
Yes this has been discussed numerous times. The 1065's price point puts it in stiff competition with the rsx-1055/rmb-1075 combo or rsp-1066/rmb-1075 combo. For about $200 more you get extra amp chanels for 7.1 built in with the 1055 and/or the ability to bi-amp your speakers with with it and the 1075. Or for about $500 more than the 1065 you can get the 1066 and the added sonics that a sperate pre/pro with it's own power supply, transformer etc. allows. I suppose it's made to appeal to those who want the near performance of seperates with a decent amp, with the convenience and space savings of a receiver. In that regard it is a stellar example of it's breed. Should anyone decide to buy it on those merits than they have made an excellent purchase. If however space and convenience are not your highest concerns than I reccomend one of the other two options for your dollars.
