Can this be done?
I have an OPPO DVD unit which has optical/coaxial outputs and individual channel rca outputs.
We are planning to run audio for some outdoor movies, and was hoping to retain the benefits of surround sound. Is this possible through pro-audio amps?
A generic way of doing it-
Mutliple smaller amps to run each speaker; front l/r, center, rear l/r.
I could connect the rca's from the OPPO directly to the each amp to provice the signal and use the gain setting on each amp to regulate volume.
A better way would be to have a mixer that could decode the signal and regulate volume, but I would still have to have multiple amps I am guessing.
We are hoping to still be able to use wireless mics within this same system. If anyone has any ideas, please chime in. H/t receivers wont have anywhere near the power that we would need provide. Maybe 200-400watts a speaker would provide enough power for a larger size audience?
Thanks in Advance!!
