Hi all,


I know others have successfully done this....


Coming out of a Dune H1 into a Monoprice splitter into a Denon 5805 and a JVC RS2. When it's Dune>Splitter>Denon it passes through the 7.1, but as soon as I plug in the RS2 to the splitter the Denon clicks away and reverts to L+R only. (Yes, I have the receiver set to not pass the HDMI audio on to any other devices)

Monoprice support say that they think the splitter is seeing the projector and reverting to the L+R format.


It seems like as soon as the projector is plugged in it reverts to the lowest format...I tried using a HDMI>DVI converter to the projector to fool the splitter but it didn't work.


WTF? Any ideas

I guess that the splitter is using the lowest common possibilities. Try to check if the jvc has some kind of Hdmi CEC feature on and disable it.

WTF? Any ideas

you need an "hdmi detective" or similare device that will fool the switcher into passing the PCM...the problem is indeed the projector being in the chain as you found out...

That's exactly what I used when I had the same problem you had, although my issue was with a different device(Denon video Processor)...
