I previously updated my STB to version 1.6, and had no problem. I just tried to install the update to version 1.63 to fix the choppy audio. It seemed to install OK, but I wound up with smooth audio but no video! I reinstalled, re-memorized channels, cycled through some channels, but nothing helped. I reinstalled version 1.6, and got back to video with choppy audio. Anyone else have this problem?

Yes, on my first try. Actually one or two SD channels

did work, and a couple others just played sound along

with some odd flickering.

But I rechecked my cables and did a second download

and after a few power cycles and channel scans it

worked perfect. Other suggestions - make sure you're

power cycling the box after the download. Try punching

in the channel number directly with the number keypad.

Also check your computer ground if your 3-plug power

is going through a 2-prong adapter. It could generate

noise and unwanted voltage between the two machines.

Try try again? (You can go back to the old version ok).

Steve, my upgrade was just like yours, perfect audio but no video. Then I rescanned and still no video. I then turned it off, no, on again, no, off again, ... After about 5~6 times, it mysteriously got back to normal. I didn't know what made it work, but once it works, it works. Samsung suggests to turn it on, off for one cycle, I did at least 5 times. So keep trying. BTW, I just flashed the firmware only once.

Good Luck.

Well I also tried to upgrade from 1.6 to 1.63, and would only get the message "No Signal", even though the green light was on. I power cycled several times, and even re-ran the upgrade again, but still nothing. Finally re-installed the old 1.6 version and it was back to normal (complete with choppy audio). Guess I'll have to wait for the next fix.

I have occassionally seen this behavior

(Green light, but "No Signal" message) when

flipping channels or flipping the favorite channels.

Yet switching to a different channel & then

punching the channel # in directly with the

number pad brings the channel in perfect.

Well, it's something to try.
