Hello all,

I've owned a Samsung HL-P5063W for nearly two months now, and I've enjoyed a flawless performance from it until this morning. When I turned the unit on this morning, I heard an unfamiliar low buzzing noise, and when the picture came on it had what I can only describe as a grid of horizontal and vertical lines about 1" x 1" . I turned the set off for a few minutes and turned it back on and the picture has appeared to return to normal. However, my questions are:

1. Is this a commmon problem that will happen from time to time, or is it something more serious that would require a service call?

2. If I do call for service, would it be better to go through CC where I bought it or directly to Samsung?

Thank you all for your help!

I had that issue three seperate times with my hlp5063 during start up. Don't know what to tell you, my light engine went out after 37 days so I switched over to a hitachi. I don't believe the vertical line issue was in any way related to the light failure though, your probably fine. I spent a couple hundred dollars more on this hitachi and in my opinion it doesn't come close to the sammy in overall picture clarity. Too bad samsung can't make a reliable product. Good luck!

I have experienced the vertical line problem as well twice since i got the redesigned light engine and new boards. Most recently last nite. Not once on the origional one. It appears that just turning the set off and then back on resolves it though.
