I choose "Star Trek Voyager" (comments not required http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif ) and it's totally "jumpy". The audio is about 80% there but jumpy... the video is like some bad AVI movie... pauses for 5 seconds, then changes frame, then pauses, then three frames flash by... went like this for 4 minutes. Then poof. Normal. I tried stopping, starting, rebooting, etc. This appears to be the only affected recording so far, but you're lucky I padded it with 5 minutes or I would have missed the beginning (read: ass kicking time)...

The unit is far from full, it's a 20 hour and I'd guess that there's about 5 hours of recorded shows.

I actually noticed a similar problem with a recording of Red Dwarf (comments welcome) last week.

And this was recorded at high quality. It seems like , perhaps, the signal was weakening during the broadcast, but it has never happened before.

This happened to me once about 4 or 5 months ago (still using v2.x) while recording "Star Trek TNG" (What is it about these Sci-Fi shows?!? http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/wink.gif )

I was convinced (and fortunatly, so was my wife!) that it was the broadcast, not ReplayTV because it wasn't through the whole show, and shows that recorded before and after it were picture-perfect. I also noticed last night while watching some NBC shows that the local network "bug" that they superimpose over the bottom right corner of the screen was all "jumpy". It flickered and jumpped. The rest of the video and audio were just fine, so it leads me to believe that the "bug" video was erroring.

Unfortunatly, there are several factors concerning picture integrity that we simply can't control.

I had a similar problem with Discovery News last night. When I went to replay the show this morning it had several skips in both audio and video. Luckily the Non-gauranteed recording of the midnight re-air was flawless so I just watched that one instead.

I'd suspect a poor or borderling signal for that recording. I could have just been on that one channel. I get that quite often on my crappy AT&T cable system. I've had troubles with recordings most oten (but still rare) on the Discovery Channel on my system.
