I have an 8x8 HDMI matrix Switch, connected to the tv locations via HDMI HDBASE T Baluns, over Cat 5e, No runs longer than 100ft. Originally all were Monoprice...yes I know... They are now two years old and we are getting signal loss in some locations. So I have begun switching over to Atlona.
I recently went to add a TV in a new bedroom and for the life of me I cannot figure out what the heck is wrong. I have tested the wire and get all passes, I get a link between the transmit and receive balun but no Video signal.
I even tested a brand new monoprice (not Atlona) on a 20 ft premade Cat 5e cord (rule out problem with switch, or issue with wire in the wall), and connected the transmit receive Balun direct to back of a cable box and still got no picture.
I have read some cable boxes dont work well with the new versions of HD signal, but I have 6 other TVs connected no problem? Could it be that those baluns are on older firmware and thus are working with the older HDMI standards?
Any ideas or help greatly appreciated.
