I have the Epson 6500 and have noticed when bright lights occur in a movie in Blu Ray the light smears horizontally across the screen. Not every light but intense light in any movie and I find it very distracting. I thought that it may be my PS3 but now I notice it in movies with my satellite dishes but not as often, maybe because of the picture quality, not sure. Anyone have this happen? I posted in the Epson Thread with no response, can't say I am surprised as this is a weird one.

Thanks, John

First thing that comes to mind is the projector is not calibrated. The Contrast is set so hot that it doesn't take much for the image to "bloom". Black level is controlled by Brightness, White level is controlled by Contrast.

If this projector has not been properly calibrated, you should take the time to do it. It's best to have a calibration DVD to take you through all the steps, it gives you the information as well as the test patterns that are used for the calibration.

This may help...
