Is anyone else having trouble connecting to the ReplayTV server? Both my new 5504 and my old Showstopper fail in "Connecting..." when using the modem to connect to the server. The phone line is OK -- I can hear it dialing and the remote modem answers.

Have you checked that the phone number is correct, or tried a different number?


I recall getting a message recently that the numbers will be changing soon.

I had the same problem with my 4504 this morning. It's been connecting flawlessly for the past couple of weeks since I've had it. Probably just server side problems.

I tried a different number, and also tried rebooting the Showstopper.


And like I said in the first message, it's not having a problem dialing, just connecting. I listened on an extension and heard the modem answer the phone and go through all the modem tones.

Yes, I'm certain the phone servers are out. My two showstoppers as well as a 5000 hang at "connecting". The odd thing is the 5000 successfully connects through ethernet. It isn't the entire system that's down.

Well, whatever the problem was, it seems to have cleared up. My Showstopper successfully phoned home last night.
