I have the sd5980 connected to my samsung dlp via HDMI and then connected to my receiver via optical cable. Digital audio out is set to RAW. The manual indicates that this will disable audio out via HDMI.

*HOWEVER* if the DVD being played is in 2ch audio (older DVD's / music video DVD's / mp3 or wma) sound is sent to the TV via HDMI as well as the receiver via the optical cable. Makes for an unpleasent echo effect. Anybody else experience this or is it a known issue? Searching the forums came up empty for me.

If the DVD is 5.1 then audio goes to the receiver only as I'd expect and want it to. Not a huge issue, I can mute the TV, but it's just not a very elegant solution.

Also, anybody else have a problem where it resets itself from progressive to interlace? I'm guessing I'm just going to have to deal with calling them for warranty service.
