Tab bond failure would be my educated guess, based on the fact that you can "fix" it by giving the TV a thump. It could also, I suppose, be a bad connection between the T-Con board the LCD driver boards. A temporary to semi-permanent fix for tab bond failure can be had by disassembling the frame surrounding the panel and shimming the bad tab bond with a piece of rubber or foam. The only permanent fix is to replace the entire LCD panel. Googling "tab bond failure" will give you more info. Can anyone diagnose the problem with my tv? It shows vertical colored lines sometimes, and they will disappear if I "bump" the top of the tv. I attached a picture to show what it looks like.
Its an LCD LG flatscreen tv.
