I bought a Harmony SST-659, and could not get the setup program to work. When I plugged the USB cable into the remote, I would get a message on the computer screen saying something like NEW HARDWARE DETECTED - HARMONY REMOTE (I don't remember the exact wording), so the computer recognized it, but the setup software did not. I even downloaded newer software off the Harmony website and that did not work either. After three hours of messing with it, I returned the remote and got my money back. A shame, since the idea of an Internet programmable remote sounded cool.
It could have been as simple as changing a setting in your pop-up blocker software (if you're running any). The setup routine is web-based and appears in a new, pop-up browser window.
Or, as said before, you could have called Harmony. Their customer service/tech support is top notch.
I hadn't thought about the pop-up blocker. That may have caused the problem. Oh well. I already went out and bought a URC-200, and I'm really pleased with it now. There is more manual setup involved, but the remote works great. It also has the IR plus RF output, so I bought the MRF-100 Remote Expander with it, and still paid less than the SST-659 by itself.
