I have a friend who is having problems getting his rears and center to work. He has a Harmon Kardon AV294 reciever with Infinity primus with Klipsch sub.

He can get the fronts and sub to work, but the rears and center don't. During the set-up test, he has all speakers working.


Any help would be appreciated.

What mode is the receiver in, meaning what does the front panel display indicate? Hopefully not something like Dolby 3 Stereo.


What source(s) is he listening to? CDs, DVDs, TV?

Need more info to be able to help. The fact that he gets a test signal through all would suggest its all connected properly, so it sounds like the processor is set wrong.

He was trying to check all speaker settings while set to dish network. No cd or dvd player attached.

I don't how Dish Net works, as I have DTV. And I don't know how the newer HK receivers work, as to when you change inputs. My older HK635 will always change to PL after changing inputs and therefore have to reset L7. But even then, I'd still get a center and surrounds.


Go into the setup menu and bring up the input that Dish is connected to. And check to make sure all the speaker channels are active for that input.
