I was getting my GT30 up and runnng this past week and was unable to get VieraCast to work. Although I had tested the ethernet cable from my router to my TV and confirmed that it worked, I thought there might be a problem with the ethernet keystone at the wall but that wasn't the case. The ethernet cable is good all of the way to the plug at the TV.

Just to complete the troubleshooting, I tried the wireless connection and i worked as it should. If I switch back to the ehternet cable, it still would not connect.

At the router (Asus 520UL) I could see the TV get and IP address and then give up when there was no connection to VieraCast.

Any thoughts?

Try hooking up the ethernet cable and then rebooting the router. Also try resetting the Panasonic.

I tried restarting the router a couple of times but only tried power cycling the Panasonic plasma. I am ne the road for a few days so will try when I get back.

It is really interesting that it worked flawlessly via wireless and not when wired. I even tried manual settings with no luck. With manual settings and can see the TV show up in the routers device list but no connection to VieraCast.
