Programming a harmony

I am trying to program my harmony 659 remote but I've run into a couple snags. First, my DVD player is a Philips DVD793C. There were codes for it in the database but they obviously aren't correct. My DVD player is funky in that the fast forward and next chapter buttons are the same. If I want to fast forward (or rewind) I have to press and hold the button down for about 5 seconds. Is there anyway to program the remote to similate that for me?

I also have a Song Wega KV-32FS100 that has a 16X9 mode. Is there a way to have the remote change my tv setting to that mode when I choose "Watch a movie"?

Thanks.

If you have wierd equipment and the codes in the harmony database dont work (ie the 5 sec thing) give harmony tech support a call... they can have it simulate pretty much anything.

As for the sony (i dont have one so im going off memory here) but I think you have to set the activity up in "advanced" mode and at the end it asks you if you want to key any extra buttons in and then you can add a sony 16x9 button.... tech support would probably be able to help you with this too though.
Kevin,

If your Sony has a 16:9 IR command loaded into the database then it's easy to set this up.

Select "Customize" from the Watch Movie Activity.

Select "Run set-up wizard again"

Select "custom"

"next" through the set-up until you get to "you can add more actions below"

From there, you can add multiple device specific commands you want to execute when you enter or exit an activity.

Let us know if you get it to work.

I have a question about programming a 680 for the Motorola 6412. On the Harmony site, do I indicate that I have a 6412 Set Top Cable Box, a 6412 PVR or both?

I also noticed there are a couple of choices for the 6412 in both categories. Any help on which I should select would be appreciated.

I ended up selecting both in my setup but I'm not sure it was necessary. I believe that you'll only need to select the Set Top Cable Box to also use the PVR featurs. I'll play around with this and repost if I'm wrong.

You only need one. I have it set up as the digital set top box. The profile I use is DCT-6412. It has all the commands I need, especially the 30 sec. skip, can't live without that. The only thing missing is the OnDemand though all that requires is pressing the number 1 so it doesn't bother me at all.

I hope this helps.
I have a question about the channel lists. Is there anyway to get them to go in numerical order from lowest channel number to highest? Right now it goes backwards from highest channel number to lowest channel number.

Thanks.
I am trying to get my 680 to learn a command but am having problems. The command is actually several commands from my Comcast remote. Basically, I have the Comcast remote programmed to do six, 30 second skips. The function (which I guess is a macro) works fine on the Comcast remote but when it is learned on the 680 it looks like it is only learning the first 30 second skip. Is it possible to get the 680 to do this series of commands.

Thanks.
