I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for an inexpensive progressive scan DVD player for use with the Z4?
I need to get a new DVD player anyway so that the wife can keep the old one in the living room, so I decided I might as well get the progressive scan. I am looking for a cheap player that will deinterlace better than the Z4 does to improve the picture. It needs to have digital audio out and be able to play DVD +/- R/RW's, that's about it. I guess component video as well. I don't have much material on DVD-r's yet, so as long as it plays one type (R,RW,+,-) I can just use those discs in the future.
I have been checking out the sales and such at all the local stores, but there are alot of cheapies out there and I haven't been able to determine which ones are good and which ones are crap. I've seen reviews for some of them where they stop working after a day, so I know to avoid those, but I haven't been able to find good info on how well they deinterlace.
So far I have been amazed by the picture the Z4 gives me. I am projecting on a green wall and it looks awesome. This thing will look even better once I get a screen for it. But first things first, DVD player.
Any suggestions as to which players are good, or which are bad and should be avoided?
Thanks for any input.
