I have a Sharp DW100U LCD projector. I've been looking at the Kenwood Soverign 400 DVD jukebox (progressive scan). I was talking to one of the local HT installers and he told me that I shouldn't get a progressive scan DVD play because my projector has a built-in line scaler and that having a progressive scan DVD player would actually hurt my picture quality rather then help it. I'm looking for someone with direct knowledge of the DW100U projector to tell me whether or not he knows what he's talking about.

I'm actually having a similar issue. I have a NEC VT540K projector and just got a new Panasonic RP82 progressive scan player. In progressive mode it looks like crap. I haven't been able to understand why yet, but my hunch is that the VT540K has a line doubler in it and that what you are describing is happengin. I'm seeing all these outlines (ghosting or ringing) around the images...

My RP82 may be going back soon...
