I know that ceilings should be a dark color. and close walls as well to prevent reflection from hitting the screen. But the wall that the projector is on, I don't think light can reflect off that and hit back onto the screen. Is there a reason that this wall needs to be dark as well if your using a screen with black borders? Besides looking cool like the picture is floating, is there a real PQ issue?

Not sure what wall you are asking about. The screen wall should be dark. It is that way for a couple reasons.

There will be SOME light bouncing around the room. Anything that comes off the front wall hits your eyes directly.

Look at your back wall (opposite the screen.) If you can see it when the room is dark and the pj is on, anyything that you can see is reflecting SOME light back toward the screen. Generally, folks use moderate shades of color. If you want to be real tweaky, get some sort of neutral gray that reflects all colors equally.
