So I am starting a basement remodel and want a good projector set up. The room will not be a dedicated theatre and will be open to the bar, playarea and game room. I can control light but will have a hard time convincing the wife of real dark paint colors. I want the best possible, most theatre like experience I can achieve outside of a dedicated theatre room. Anybody with this setup have any ideas??

Light control, including proper flat-ish walls with darker colors are pretty key for great performance. At least the 4' to 6' out from the screen itself. It only takes a little bit of light to destroy the performance numbers, this includes light reflecting back on the screen from light colored walls / cielings.
