I am looking for suggestions on the right projector for a room size of 11' x 11'.

I will be using a 92" screen and the projector will be placed on a shelf. I came across a couple of these 720P's that might work Optoma HD65 & Infocus X9. Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks

Hmm might want to check with this calculator http://www.projectorcentral.com/proj...ulator-pro.cfm for some guidance, although its not always accurate because for my HD70 it says I can do 92 inches from 10.6ft, but I can't. I can get about 87 inches, plus thats measured from the front of the pj lens, so with wires and all you might not be able to fit that size screen in that room. Also some of those cheaper pjs don't have built in lens shift which allows you to move the lens angle, which is very important if you want to do shelf mount. AYou can tilt the pj and use keystone, but I'd rather suggest something that has lens shift built in. Many of the LCD pjs have better zoom ratios, which will allow you to use that 92 inch screen from closer distances.

Our relatively small room (cause I project across the width instead of the length) is 13 ft. wall-to-wall and 720p Panasonic PJ is shelf mounted but allowing room for the PJ plus clearance for wiring behind it I net about 11 1/2 ft. lens-to-screen. In your case you will net about only 9 1/2 ft. lens-to-screen - our screen is 96 in. wide and with our PJ's adequate lens shift capacity and zoom capacity we can just fill the screen's width.

Now if you are planning for a 80 inch width to net maybe near a 96inch diagonal then you be just about right cause sitting just a little too close to a just a little too big screen actually takes away from the visual experience - just IMHO.

You won't be able to use a DLP PJ from a shelf, unless you mount it upside down underneath the shelf.
