I have a 8 foot diagonal screen, i was looking at the benq 6100, and read that i would have to place it 14' from the screen for a 8' screen size. I cant do this, i can go 8 feet back from the screen, but not 14 feet. Are all projectors like this or is it only this model? Right now im using a CRT projector as my setup, but its on its last leg.

Any advise would be great.

Benq is a long throw projector - as are most. You might want to take a look at a Hitachi home-1 - it has a 2x zoom - so it would work with your setup.

If your budget allows it, the new Panasonic AE700 is a 1280x720 HD projector that is getting great reviews at the moment and it also has a 2x zoom. It might fit the bill, but 8 feet is pretty short for any digital projector to throw that large an image.

6200, 6210 and new 5120 (same spec as 4805) have same throw, shorter than 6100
