Newbie with projectors hence bear with me.

I am looking for a projector and looking for experts to chime in.

The location of the  projector going to be in two areas:

1. Area1: unfinished basement 13 feet x14 feet. planning to put PJ, so will be projecting against 13 feet wall

2. Area 2: loft 13 feet x 19 feet, so will be projecting against 19 feet wall

Primary use will be in Area#1, but wants to use in Are#2 just in case it is too cold

Some of the features based on going through the forum that makes sense to have:

1. LED (it is advertised the bulbs last 20 years)

2. Screen size ( 120 inches above, whatever I can get whole wall is mine :0)

2. 1080P resolution

3. 3D enabled

4. Short throw: so I can use use it in Area#2 loft where I want to put the pj in a coffee table ( someone suggested in another thread)

5. Wi-fi

Some fancy items:

1. Smart features

2. TV tuner

Obviously need best value at a low price :)

Please suggest some projectors which might fit my needs. TIA

LED projectors won't get NEARLY as bright as you want with that type of screen. they're still years from replacing good old fashioned LCD/DLP projectors for home use

120 inch screen is a nice size for a 13-14 inch room

what's your price ceiling?

hmm.. Not hard rule but $500-$600

ok, you'll be cuttin it REAL hard there since most of the decent ones are about $700-$1000

I'd look at the BenQ w1070 (a refurb is $677 straight from the benq store right now) for $899

the optoma 131xe is about $719 on amazon

Viewsonic has a few, but I've never been a fan of viewsonic's build quality

you can get away with $500-$600 if you go 7209p, but not really with 1080p (if you want anything decent)
