Is there a projector not more than the same cost as a Panasonic 65VT60 that would have the roughly the same picture quality as the VT60?

As long as you aren't dissatisfied with the size, the VT60 will give you a great picture.

Not to everyone. If he's satisfied with 60" then that's fine. A lot of people find 50"+ flat panels too large. You have to remember most people aren't as hardcore as we are. On this forum, size matters, but in the real world most people find our images overkill. To them I give them this look

If you can afford it go with a JVC, Sony or Epson projector in the $2,000 to $3,500 range for movies (including 3D) and such and use the TV for the other stuff (TV news, general entertainment and You Tube). Your projector lamp will last longer and you will have that "big" picture movie theatre experience at a flick of a switch.
