Projector Won't Go Full Screen 720p

I have a ATI Radeon X1600 Pro, and I'm trying to run it at 720p on a infocus x2 projector through my htpc. When I put it into 720p (this is a supported resolution) I can't get it to fill up the entire screen. I also have this problem with 1080i. I've only has this problem with projectors, does anyone know a fix?

I have the x1650xt, and could not fill the screen either using 1280x720. My projector is fed using the DIN-to-Component breakout cable. I resolved the problem using the supplied CCC... under the Component Display properties, I set up a custom resolution. For me, it's something like 1232 x 692.

I think your projector does not support true 720p, the native resolution is 800x600 so you might need to create a custom resolution..
Thanks for the replies. I'm actually trying to help my uncle with this problem, and retret you are in fact right. The native resolution of the projector is 800x600. It's just a slight underscan problem.
