Im looking at around a 15' throw for a 106" screen. The l300 is too short and I'm unsure how the expensive long throw lens will affect the picture. The HS10 will work, but it is STILL backordered. No DLP's for me either, I see rainbows.

Only choice is to wait for the HS10?

From what it looks like for a 100' screen the L300u is:

Standard throw - 3.7 m (12.1')

Long throw - 4.4 m (14.5')

The HS10 is 15.4'

I also found...

"Panasonic has announced that these lenses (TY-LECTE300 & TY-LECEW300) would not be made available in the U.S. "

But I did find one for about $370

So....1900 + 370 = cost of HS10

Also I found...

"BTW, the calculator at ProjectorCenteral lists the following:

Panasonic PT-L300U (106" diagonal)

Distance to 16:9 Screen = 10.3 ft. - 12.8 ft.

Panasonic PT-AE300 (106" diagonal)

Distance to 16:9 Screen = 10.3 ft. - 15.9 ft.

I thought these two were exactly identical models (US and non-US versions). Is it true the AE300 has a different range than the L300?"
