Protect Speakers from Karaoke?

I'm in the process of planning and building a nice home theater.

I had been planning on including karaoke into the system. It's not a high priority, but it would be fun.

I saw another post on AVS that warned a mic drop during karaoke is likely to blow your speakers, so don't get nice speakers. Well that's a problem!

How big of a risk is that? I have a couple Behringer processors I picked up cheap a long time ago. I was hoping that would cover me, and it would be safe to hand microphones to clumsy kids and adults.

Some details:
LCRs: JTR 212HTR (rated for up to 2kw RMS)
Amp: Parasound A51 (400wpc RMS @ 4 ohms)
Mic Feedback processor: Behringer FBQ2496
Mic FX processor: Behringer FX2000 (includes limiter & compressor)
Subs and transducers go through a MiniDSP, which has another limiter & compressor I could configure more aggressively for karaoke.

With feedback and a limiter covered, and speakers rated far above my amp, can I relax about this?
Any tips on how to set up limiters & compressors?
Should I rethink including karaoke?

Thanks!

This topic was covered in some older speaker threads, but may not have the definitive answer your looking for regarding your Behringer devices.

It may be worth a call to Behringer tech support to get their input
