Protecting sensor from damp...

I've been told that sensor suffer from damp/humidity. What is the best way to protect the sensor, apart from store it in a dry place? Put it in abox filled with silicagel?

Probably similar to how one might treat camera lenses. Yes with those packets around in the container.
