I need to rebuild my server. I haven't done this in years, and all the power supply stuff is too distant a memory.

On the one hand, the server will be "low-power", a server mobo with integrated video. But, it'll have

1) 8-10 1TB hard drives,

2) 8way PCI serial card

3) M-audio Delta 410 multiaudio PCI card

4) VBox Cats Eye PCI HDTV card

5) 4 different USB devices (modem, HD-PVR but it has it's own power, just drew a blank on the other 2 right now)

6) 2GB DDR2 x 2 sticks

So I use the newegg power calculator, come up with 630W. That trues up with what asus recommends on their calculator.

But my question: How would I know how many +12V rails I want? Do I want 2? 3? 6?

I don't mind overbuying to have some headroom, but I don't want to be a butthead about it. Electricity costs & efficiency are a concern, I don't want this blowing out my electric bill.
