Just got my budget HTiB setup, an Onkyo HT-S770, which comes with an HT-R520 receiver. Currently I am using my PS/2 for playing DVD's. I bought an optical cable and hooked the digital audio from the PS/2 to the receiver. After scanning the manuals I managed to get the PS/2 and the receiver configured properly (I think) and the receiver allowed me to select a Dolby Surround mode. The problem is that the audio is very choppy, it will be on and sound good for several seconds, and then just go completely silent for a few seconds. This pattern continues. Obviously something is wrong, but I've run out of things to try. If anyone knows what this choppy audio from the PS/2 is a symptom of, I'd really appreciate a point in the right direction.

I recently bought a Panasonic DVD-S29K and hooked it up with the same optical cable to the same receiver and there are no audio problems. I guess there is some issue with my PS/2.
