PS 3 Problem

Can get sound with no picture, or picture with no sound. Running an optical digital cable to the preamp/processor for audio and an hdmi cable straight to my displayfor video.


I have tried adjusting everything in the setup menu but can't seem to figure it out.


My preamp does not have hdmi switching. Will the ps3 work in the mentioned configuration. Don't have the manual.
